Other items are present: Ring TVs (each adds 10 rings) and Sparkle TVs (make Sonic invincible for a while). The difference is that the rings cannot keep Sonic alive - touching any enemy can cost Sonic a life. Like in the original series, rings are present players can collect rings for more points. Sonic attacks only by jumping on enemies' heads he doesn't have the ability to roll or use Spin Dash as in the other games of the Sonic series.
